Refurbished - Brand New Parts, Tested, & Calibrated

Our freeze dryer refurbishment process is more than just returning the instrument to working condition. We install brand new parts, recharge the refrigerant, test for leaks, and calibrate the system so you will get excellent performance on day one.

Having been first sold in 2014, this freeze dryer is still in excellent condition, lacking any sort of major dings or damages. We installed new vacuum hoses and serviced the refrigeration system, making this freeze dryer run like the day it was built.


Built to Industrial Grade to Maximize Longevity

Per our own freeze dryer tech, Virtis Freeze Dryers are built to industrial grade to maximize longevity which is why they come at a premium cost. They include sturdy refrigeration compressors and the manifolds are welded with solid 3/4" SS tubing for connecting stoppering valves, giving you a good seal.


When you’re running your freeze dryer continuously for days at a time, longevity is an important factor to consider, so if you’re planning on doing extended freeze drying runs, a Virtis freeze dryer may be worth the extra cost in the long run.


Rebuilt Vacuum Pump with Extended Warranty

This freeze dryer has been outfitted with a rebuilt 2012 Adixen 2021i vacuum pump that is successfully pulling the system down to 14 millitorr. This pump carries a 1-year extended warranty, providing you the confidence that you’ll be protected in case of breakdown.


Meeting Refrigeration and Vacuum Specifications

To ensure the refrigeration of this freeze dryer is operating at manufacturer specification of -82°C at 50Hz, our technician performed a full evacuation of the high stage compressor and topped off the low stage compressor as needed.


The recharge process involved the following:

- Vent freeze dryer of refrigerant
- Apply 250-micron vacuum to test for leaks, remove debris, and boil off moisture in lines
- Nitrogen purge three times to clear lines for preventative maintenance
- Refill freeze dryer with new refrigerants
- Confirm freeze dryer is operating to specification

During testing and calibration this freeze dryer was consistently able to reach -82°C with no difficulty at +24°C ambient room temperature, right in line with manufacturer temperature specification. As for the vacuum system, the manufacturer specification for the lowest system vacuum is ≤15mT and this system achieved 14mT with the included pump which is more than enough for any application.


Equipped and Ready for Operation

As long as you have compatible freeze drying vessels, you will be able to immediately start freeze drying with this system. With the included 16 shut-off valves, you can use any of the 16 ports on this tree manifold.

Our technician also installed a shut-off valve so the vacuum pump will not lose oil via oil mist from the fill port. Keep in mind this valve will need to be opened to fill the pump with new oil.
